Mizuno Knee Pads Review

The Mizuno knee pads are another great choice for volleyball players. Although Mizuno makes different kinds of volleyball knee pads, this review is going to focus specifically on the Mizuno T10 knee pad.

Mizuno is a well-known maker of volleyball equipment. It is one of those name brands for volleyball that you cannot go wrong with.

Mizuno Knee Pads

I really like the Mizuno T10 volleyball knee pads because they provide great padding, they are comfortable, and they do not restrict movement.

There is a really fine line when it comes to knee pads. You need to find a balance of a knee pad that will provide enough padding to protect you while not being too bulky to restrict your movements.

Volleyball is a sport of agility and how quickly you can move to the ball. So, when you are shopping for volleyball gear, you want to find the lightweight equipment that will allow you to move.

The sliding knee pad is also longer than most sleeves. Many sleeves for knee pads are 7" in length. This knee pad is 9" offering a little extra protection. There is also a slim profile with 5 separate padding panels around the knee.

This is one of the best made knee pads on the market. I highly recommend this if you are in the market for knee pads.

Best Value Knee Pad

The Mizuno T10 knee pads are an incredible value.  They're great because they don't restrict your movement, they're comfortable, and have great padding.

You can pick them up at this link from Amazon.com and they are a few dollars cheaper than most of the major retailers:  Mizuno T10 Volleyball Knee Pad

Nike Knee Pad Review

The Nike knee pad is another option when it comes to volleyball knee pads. This review will help you determine whether it makes sense for you.

As many of you know, I am a huge fan of Nike. I always have been and much of my wardrobe has the swoosh on it. Yes, even my dress clothes for work have a swoosh.

Best Nike Knee Pad

If you're a big Nike fan like I am, and just have to have that swoosh, these are going to be the choice for you.

But, when it comes to volleyball, Nike just isn't a major player in the industry. As a result, they have limited offerings and they are not the top of the game.

The main Nike knee pad that they produce is the Nike Athena knee pad. It is a basic, slide on knee pad with moderate padding.

Pros

For me, the advantages of this knee pad are:

  • It has a swoosh (for some people that is important!)
  • It has a swoosh
  • It has a swoosh...

Okay, there really aren't a whole lot of advantages to it.

Cons

  • Not gel lined like the higher level Asics knee pads that I have reviewed.
  • There is only one Nike volleyball knee pad per package so you have to order two.
  • Not designed specifically for volleyball. With a general knee pad, you get general results.

Although the knee pad is priced so that two of them would be equivalent to a pair of knee pads sold elsewhere, it bothers me that I have to buy two. Plus, the benefits that are offered are limited.

If you were needing knee pads, I would still recommend the Asics knee pads to meet your needs. There are better options to choose from even if they do not have the swoosh.

But, if you must have them, you can pick them up from Amazon.com here: Nike Athena Knee Pad

Asics Knee Pads Reviews

Asics knee pads are one of the leaders in the industry when it comes to volleyball knee pads. As a result, there are several different types of Asics volleyball knee pads to choose from.

Asics Knee Pads

When it comes to the knee pads that they offer, there are really three different versions. The main thing that changes between what they offer (prices change too of course) is the amount of padding that is used and what type of padding it is.

Depending on your level of play (casual vs. competitive) you may choose one over another. Also, if you are the type of player that passes a lot and are on your knees a lot, you may want to invest (it is only a few dollars more) in one of the upper level knee pads.

My review of their knee pads will start at the base level and go up.

Best Top Level Knee Pad

If you want to skip ahead and get the best protection you can get, the Asics Competition 3.0G is the one for you.

Lowest Level Knee Pads

There really isn't a whole lot to review. The base level offers full coverage, low profile, and a memory foam for the knees. They are also latex free in case you have any kind of allergies to latex.

If this is what you are looking for, you can pick it up from Amazon.com here: ASICS International Volleyball Knee Pads

Mid Level Knee Pads

The next level up is the Asics 2.0 Competition Level knee pads. They are a step above the others. They offer:

  • Ultra-low profile
  • Kinetofoam pad
  • Latex free

The kinetofoam pad offers additional cushioning and padding for the knee. It is also more durable and would be suitable for competition level and frequent use.

Amazon.com also offers it here: ASICS Competition 2.0G Volleyball Knee Pads

Upper Level Knee Pads

The best Asics knee pads out there are the Asics Competition 3.0G knee pads. The pads have:

  • Gel cushioning system
  • Ortholite pads
  • Kintetofoam pads
  • Latex free

If your knees take a beating and you want to offer them the best protection, I would go this route. It is only a few dollars more to get the best protection for your knees that you can get.

Volleyball Knee Pads Reviews

Looking for volleyball knee pads and you aren't sure which ones are going to be the best fit for your needs? Look no further! These reviews on knee pads for volleyball will help you make that decision.

Volleyball Knee Pads Reviews

Knee pads are another important piece of equipment for volleyball. Volleyball players frequently are on their knees when it comes to digging a ball and playing defense. You are going to want to protect your knees, or you are going to have a lot of painful floor burns.

If you are a beach volleyball player, then the knee pads are just going to get in the way once they start collecting dirt. The sand is a soft enough surface that you won't get the floor burns.

  Best Knee Pad Overall

The Asics Competition 3.0G is the best overall top level knee pad.  They're super comfortable and offer the best protection of all.

But, if you are an indoor player, you really need to pick some up so that you protect your knees. Floor burns may not sound like a big deal, but when you are playing every day and getting floor burn after floor burn, you want to keep your legs intact. After all, you do want your legs to look nice in shorts after volleyball practice, right?

One of the other major reasons to have knee pads is to protect your knees from bruises. When you are playing on a hard floor, it wouldn't be uncommon to have your knees get some bruises on there. With knee pads, it will cushion the shock and reduce the damage done to the knee.

Some knee pads also have gel on the inside to make the impact from the ground do less wear and tear on the knee.
