Mikasa Volleyball Reviews

A Mikasa volleyball is another good choice if you are looking for a ball. Mikasa is well known volleyball maker that is most notably used in the Olympics and the FIVB.

The first ball that I wanted to review is one of the volleyball balls that was used in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. You will likely recognize the ball design and colors because it is quite a bit different than your traditional volleyball.

First of all, this ball is just cool looking because of the design. Want to have a volleyball that is different than the rest of them out there? This one will get you noticed.

The swirl design on the ball allows for more contact area for better passing and hitting control. This also cuts down on air friction as the ball travels through the air. This means that the ball will take a truer path of flight as it is in the air.

After playing extensively with this ball, I really liked it. It was easier to see the ball, easier to pass and to hit. Because of how the ball is weighted, this ball really moves in the air. Our setter said that it was much more accurate to set with this ball. If you serve a lot of floaters, you will love this ball because of how much it will move in the air.

The ball is designed for high quality, heavy use, and it just looks cool. The price is very reasonable for this quality of a ball. I highly recommend this one.

Mikasa VLS200 Outdoor Volleyball

Mikasa FIVB Outdoor Volleyball

The other Mikasa volleyball that I wanted to review is the VLS200. This is another fine piece of volleyball equipment.

This ball is the ball that is used by FIVB for all outdoor international tournaments. It will be used in the 2012 Olympics as the official tournament ball. That speaks of the quality and craftsmanship of this volleyball.

It features a twin microfiber cover for maximum durability. There is also TwinSTLock stitching to prevent the seams from coming apart. The ball does come with a 3 year warranty as well.

Although I have not personally used this volleyball, reviews on it from others state the ease of passing, setting, and hitting this ball. It proved to be a good all around ball of high quality.
